Placed in the old center of a small town in the suburbs of Athens, the “arc façade” project is a new commercial and office center for the area.
The multifaceted site, the existence of a main street and the need to create urban open space in front of the building resulted in an arc shape plan.
All commercial spaces are placed in the ground floor while all offices are placed in the two floors above. The arc shape has created open space in front of the ground floor shops, which is open to the public, creating more façade for the shops and a protected entrance to the elevated offices. A small garden with a café is placed at the back side of the building. A spacious parking space has been placed at an underground level with access from the front street.
All offices and commercial spaces are placed radially with their big façade facing the street and the southern sun. An inner corridor facing the atrium at the north side works as an access root to all offices at the first and second level.
At the time a part of the ground floor has been constructed and serves as a bank, while the rest of the project is under construction.
